Projecting images onto water droplets

Projectors come in many shapes and sizes nowadays, each new model boasting enhanced projection capabilities and advanced display technology. However, there are also some products from this category out there that can be described simply as "weird" or "uncanny", or perhaps simply "extraordinarily innovative" and the FogScreen One launched by the FogScreen company is one of them, as this thing is capable of projecting images on a screen of water droplets.

The device is not exactly aimed at home users, but rather at the companies which want to setup a special display in their headquarters. It is also a very good solution for music shows, clubs, etc., where it would certainly make quite an impression on the audience.

As mentioned earlier, the main function of the FogScreen One is to output video or PC sources on a one-meter screen formed out of vapor droplets. Moreover, several devices can be linked, so that the actual size of the display can be much larger. It consumes around 3 to 10 liters of water per hour, depending on the fog output and the whole setup is controlled via a DMX-512 control unit.

"FogScreen One gives a wide variety of new possibilities for different customer needs", says Mika Koivula, CEO of FogScreen Inc. "All FogScreen products allow customers to play with the product, create different designs, shapes and sets. In FogScreen One the difference is in the scalability: the screen size starts from 1 meter but linking FogScreen Ones together it is possible to have the set up as wide as needed", he continues.

Since this is not exactly a typical commercial product, the company doesn't offer any relevant information regarding its pricing. Nevertheless, should you be interested in purchasing or renting such a projection system, you can always contact the company or one of its representatives, who will provide the required info.
