Harmonix and MTV Game are announcing that those who have run out of songs to play in Rock Band can head to the Rock Band Music Store to see new additions from Flyleaf, Busted and Silverchair, which are offered on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the Nintendo Wii today, and the PlayStation 3 from Sony on Thursday. The tracks cost the usual 160 Microsoft Points, which is the equivalent of 200 Wii Points and 1.99 dollars, for those who are interested in real world money.

Silverchair, a trio of alternative rockers from Australia, are making their debut in Rock Band with “Tomorrow,” a track that reached number one on the Modern Rock chart from Billboard and helped them shift more than 6 million records.

The week also sees the launch of “Again,” a new single coming from Memento Mori, a fresh album from Flyleaf, which launched to number eight in the Billboard 200 chart. Busted, a pop rock band from Britain, is also contributing to the line up with “Thunderbords Are Go!” from the soundtrack of the movie with the same name. All the songs offered are master recordings, selected by the developers to deliver the best sound quality to gamers.

Harmonix and MTV Games are saying there are more than 1,100 tracks offered for download in the Rock Band Music Store, with all the big artists of the moment and of the past contributing with songs. Since the service was launched in November 2007, Harmonix claims to have registered more than 65 million paid downloads.

On June 8, fans of Rock Band will be able to pick up Green Day: Rock Band, a game that follows the career of the punk rock band just like The Beatles launch of 2009 followed the career of the Liverpool pop rock defining band. Rock Band 3 is also being developed, probably out in late 2010.
