Fly Mobile has just introduced a new Android tablet in India, the F8s. The slate seems to be priced higher than other tablets in the same category, but some may find it worthy enough.

According to AndroidOS, Fly F8s will be available for purchase in the coming days for no less than Rs 13,500, which is about $250 or €190.

Obviously, this goes a lot cheaper than the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 510 that sports a similar 8-inch display and is now up for sale in India for Rs 30,900 ($570/€435).

Fly F8s comes with an 8-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1024 x 768 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

It doesn’t feature dual-SIM capability or voice calling, but users will be able to take advantage of blazing fast data speed thanks to the 3G feature that was included inside the tablet.

Hardware-wise, the tablet is pretty decent. It comes packed with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 2.5GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot. No word on the amount of RAM yet, but we suspect it might feature 512MB of RAM.

On the back, Fly F8s sports a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front, there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls. Other highlights of the tablet include: Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio jack and 4000 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Keep in mind that Fly Mobile’s F8s tablet will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

“Our products are user-friendly and technologically superior in every way. They are designed to take technological standards a notch higher and we are hopeful that the phones and tablet will cater to the demands of the youth as well as adults,” said Rahul Goel, CEO, Fly Mobile.
