A three-story villa has almost been swallowed in Florida after a massive sinkhole opened up underneath it.
The residence is located near Disney World. The central Florida structure partially collapsed at 3 a.m. on Monday. Twenty people were inside its 24 units at the time.
Lake County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Tony Cuellar describes that nobody in the Summer Bay Resort area was injured as a result of the incident, as evacuations were performed.
He adds that the depression is about 40 to 50 feet (12 - 15 meters) in diameter, and the building has been left tilted to its side. About half of it has sunk at this point, WKMG-TV reported.
"I was just hearing all these noises banging and people screaming. The walkway was like this. [...] It's about to just fall. The whole corner of the building was falling," resort guest Alec Gobeo describes.
