Police have closed down the University of Central Florida campus on Monday, March 18, following a shooting spree threat that has ended in the suspect committing suicide.

As I detailed earlier today, 30-year-old dropout student James Oliver Seevakumaran set off a fire alarm and stocked up on weapons, rounds and explosive, drawing up plans to go on a killing spree once students descended to the parking lot.

He turned the gun on himself after his roommate, whom he threatened, alerted campus police. According to the Epoch Times, police locked down the campus Tower 1 where the student resided, as well as the said parking area.

“The safety of our students in Tower 1 and our entire campus community is our top priority,” Police Chief Richard Beary says in a statement.
