Nowadays, the large majority of people who shoot a video clip with something other than a serious camcorder (either HDD/Flash/MiniDV based) will most likely upload it to a video sharing or social networking website, such as YouTube, AOL Video or MySpace.

However, since most of these clips are recorded using either mobile phones or "ultra-portable" camcorders, their quality is generally rather poor. For this reason, a bunch of manufacturers have come up with cellphone-sized, "HD"-capable camcorders, the latest announcement of this type coming from Pure Digital Technologies, which has just launched its MinoHD model.

Following closely in the footsteps of the previous, Flip Mino model, the MinoHD is touted as being capable of recording videos at a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution in 16:9 format. Plus, it's got 4GB of built-in flash memory, which allows users to record around 60 minutes of footage at the aforementioned resolution.

The miniature camcorder has been equipped with a 1.5-inch LCD screen, which is used for viewing both video and various functions of the device. Speaking of which, it's interesting to mention that users will be able to access such features as instant playback, pause, fast forward/rewind, and delete via the flat back-panel with touch-sensitive buttons.

The device is powered by a sealed, rechargeable lithium ion battery, which provides up to 2 hours of battery life. Moreover, it comes pre-installed with the FlipShare software, which allows amateur videographers to carry out several activities, such as saving, organizing and editing videos or uploading them to the Internet.

According to the guys over at Gizmodo, the Flip MinoHD will retail for around 229.99 US dollars, which is not exactly a fantastic price point, given the fact that it's actually very close to that of some much more advanced camcorders.
