Shoppers at a mall in Breda have been lucky enough to witness a flash mob for the ages – a reenactment of Rembrandt's “The Night Watch,” costumes, props and all.

The Dutch Rijksmuseum has set up the event to announce the fact that the 17th century painting will be displayed there once again, following 10 years of restoration works.

According to Huffington Post, actors swooped in upon unsuspecting shoppers, ropes swinging and flags waiving, after startling them at first by sounding a security alarm.

In keeping with the plot behind the painting, a “thief” character made his appearance and tried to make his escape by running on the hallways of the shopping center. After jumping from the store's interior balconies he is finally captured.
