It seems that computer and accessories' manufacturers are really gearing up right now in order to come up with some interesting offerings for this year's Christmas shopping season, the latest to add a couple of novelties to its lineup being HP, who's just outed no less than five new desktop PC monitors in its new X-Series.

As Electronista reports, HP's X-Series includes only LED-backlit models, the adoption of this already famous technology helping the displays attain a 43 percent bump up in terms of energy efficiency, with the available diagonal size ranging between 20 and 27 inches.

The 2011x 20-inch model offers a 1600x900 resolution anti-glare panel, while the 2211x takes the resolution up to a full HD 1920x1080p.

Both models have VGA and DVI-D connectors (with HDCP) and cables included, while the 23-inch 2311x has the same specs as the 2211x but adds an HDMI input.

The other two models, namely the 25-inch 2511x, as well as the 27-inch 2711x, feature the same 1920x1080 resolution as the smaller two models, but use a BrightView (glossy) option and enhanced brightness, of 300 nits.

Apart from the 25 and 27-inch models, all of the other X-Series monitors from HP provide a 250-nit brightness level, while just about the entire series boasts a 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, as well as 5ms response time.

Plus, they also feature twisted nematic (TN) technology, which might prove to be quite useful for multimedia playback and gaming, but quite so as far as photo and video editing are concerned.

The 20, 22 and 23-inch models will go on sale this weekend for 160, 200 and 230 US dollars, while the two larger models are expected to arrive in stores the next weekend, retailing for 300 and 400 US dollars, respectively, meaning that, if you're interested, you can easily add them to your Christmas shopping list.
