Valve has released more free goodies for fans of its recent Portal 2 title, with the first of three original soundtrack albums being available for download completely free.

Portal 2 impressed plenty of critics and regular players alike with its smart and hilarious story, tricky puzzles and top-notch single-player and cooperative multiplayer campaigns.

Another strong feature of the game was its soundtrack, filled with subtle environmental tunes but also the trademark ending song made by Jonathan Coulton.

Now, fans of Portal 2 can enjoy a piece of the game's soundtrack, as Valve announced that the first of three albums is now available for a free download on its Think With Portals website.

The announcement was made with the classic humor of other releases from the game's fictional Aperture Science facility.

"Whether you're a mega-science corporation with decades of test experience, or a young start-up liberating your first test subject from non-testing with a chloroform-soaked rag, Aperture guarantees results. Wake up your test subject, open the chamber door, and press play--let Aperture's patent-pending rhythmic compliance enhancers do the rest."

The first "aural stimulus package" includes 22 songs, many of which were played during some of the more intense parts of the game's single-player and multiplayer campaigns.

The tracks are mainly part of the electro genre, with mechanic sounds and beats punctuating the interesting experienced offered by the actual game, while their names borrow some of the more hilarious statements made by the various characters of the title.

For those who want to get the tracks with them on the go, Valve is also offering six tracks as custom-built ringtones in formats for the iPhone devices or Android-powered handsets.

While the ending song made by Coulton specifically for Portal 2 isn't available in this first album, fans of the game may expect it to appear in one of the other two soundtracks that will appear in the near future.

Portal 2 gets more free stuff later this summer, when Valve confirmed that DLC Pack #01 is going to be released free of charge for all platforms.
