Following the release of Windows Phone Mango, Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is expected to launch a new flavor of their mobile operating system, one that would be called Tango, and which appears to have been already loaded on devices.

The said OS version, supposedly aimed mainly at lower-end devices that would be pushed to emerging markets around the world, was spotted on a mobile phone listed in a benchmarking app in the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Running under Windows Phone build 7.10.8004, the handset supposedly sports the name of HTC Radiant, and might be released on the market as an, obviously, affordable device.

Until now, however, no other details on the smartphone have emerged, at least none that the WP Bench application would unveil.

However, although an affordable handset, the device might still feature appealing capabilities, so as to attract even more users to the Windows Phone platform.

One thing that it certain, however, is that the mobile phone should be released on the market after the first wave of Windows Phone Mango devices.

It should offer a series of features and capabilities that are specifically tailored for the said emerging markets, though it still remains to be seen what the Windows Phone Tango OS is all about.

Microsoft offered only a few details on the platform release, though we do know that more on it will emerge in the near future.

Tango should arrive on the market after Mango is here, but before the next major Windows Phone release arrives, supposedly called Apollo.

Basically, Tango would be similar with NoDo, and some of the previous rumors on the update did suggest this.

What remains unknown for the time being is what enhancements and new features the future OS flavor will bring along when compared to Mango. However, more on the matter should be unveiled soon, so stay tuned for updates on this.
