As promised, the Standard Hotel is turning up the heat on its employees in an effort to track down for the leak of the surveillance video that showed rapper Jay Z and Solange Knowles, his wife's sister, getting into a physical altercation inside one of their elevators after the Met Ball in New York.

The Standard has announced that one of their employees has been fired for “breaching the security polices of the hotel,” after he was identified as being involved the leaking of the incriminating video to the press.

The footage became available online, after celebrity site TMZ posted it on May 12, and it took only minutes to become viral, simply because of its scandalous nature. It showed a significantly different image of the Beyonce and Jay Z family, than the one they were portraying in the media, which is now considered to be an elaborate ruse.

Later reports indicated that the video in question was shopped around for five days to several tabloids before TMZ nabbed it, for the whopping sum of a quarter million dollars. That means that the person who just got fired might be sitting on a pretty large sum of money at the moment.

But let's not forget that the Standard Hotel also threatened to sue the person responsible for the leak to the full extent of the law, which means that this person might end up spending all his newly-acquired cash on lawyer fees to keep him out of jail.

And while all of this drama is going on, Beyonce and Jay z have come under fire, much like their marriage, that is being questioned. All sorts of theories are being thrown around and there is no telling which are true and which as fabrications.

The NY Daily News claims that the fight took place because Solange didn't like the way the rapper was getting close to designer Rachel Roy at the Met Gala, while Us Weekly follows pretty much the same path, claiming that Solange yelled at one point “Anyone who gets close to Jay has to be warned and deal with her as a sister.”

Jay Z was in a party mood that night and a drunk Solange asked him “Why can't you go home?” and then turned to her sister “Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?” Seconds later, she was kicking and punching at Jay, and Beyonce didn't seem to mind, hinting that she was at least partially in agreement with her sister's actions.
