The long arm of the law works faster than you might think. It's been little less than a week since Miley Cyrus' North Hollywood home was burglarized and the police have already made the first two arrests in the case, after they spotted the people they think broke into the pop star's home.

TMZ has the scoop that the two presumed offenders, a man and a woman, were picked up while walking on the streets of North Hollywood by police officers who recognized them for the security footage they obtained from Miley's home.

This is not the first break in the case. Earlier this week, police were able to retrieve Miley's white Maserati Quatroporte that was stolen in the incident along with an unspecified amount of expensive jewelry.

The car was found not far from the crime scene, parked on a street close by, which made cops believe that it was ditched immediately after the heist. Reports at the time indicated that the car was in perfect working order.

After police took the car into custody, they dusted it for prints, but right now it's too early to tell if the two people arrested yesterday, the man and the woman both in their 20s, have the same fingerprints as the ones police found on the stolen vehicle.

Local law enforcement officers confirm that the two suspects have no known association with Miley Cyrus, indicating that this wasn't an inside job. This was the first theory the police came up with when they didn't find any signs of forced entry.

As previous reports showed, Miley Cyrus was not at home when the burglary took place, being in Europe to promote her latest tour, Bangerz. The theft was called in by her assistant who came to her mansion to find out it had been broken into.

This isn't the first time that Miley has her home broken into. Just days from her 21st birthday, some unidentified individuals broke into her North Hollywood estate and made off with some of the singer's expensive designer's jewelry.

This time, police were able to make progress on the case much faster, after they saw the surveillance tapes from the mansion and were able to identify two people scaling the fence in order to gain access. By the sound of things and by the fact that they were picked up in the same region where the break-in occurred, it's very possible that the alleged thieves live in North Hollywood.
