Among the films that can cause an incredible stir with critics and uneducated audiences alike, Michael Bay’s productions will always be included no matter what. However, perhaps no other film than the monster sequel to his 2007 hit “Transformers,” called “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” better qualifies for the position. Empire Magazine seems to think so, at least.

Speaking of which, since it’s this publication that got the exclusive on the Cairo set, thus becoming the first media outlet to have images of one of the most expected flicks of 2009, there are probably few reasons to doubt that its editors included “Transformers 2” in a must-see list. The preview issue is on sale now and, from what various specialized e-zines are saying, fans have no idea of the treat that’s in store for them.

Starring Megan Fox, Shia LeBeouf and Josh Duhamel, just like the first film, the sequel is supposed to bring to life a “new threat [that] arrives from times of old,” in a context in which “the battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun,” as the synopsis of the movie says. Of course, man and machine will join forces again for the greater good.

Since this is a Michael Bay film, fans already know to expect the best of the best in terms of special effects and breathtaking blasts. The shots made public, and available here for your viewing pleasure in high resolution, are a clear indication to that. Of course, for those looking for deeper meanings and hidden signs in them, bother no more because others have already done it for you.

“If you look closely, you’ll notice some of the strange Autobot/Decepticon hieroglyphics on the pole and possibly on Sam’s shirt. And the third photo shows Bay and Co prepping for a shot on the Pyramids. John Turturro’s character Agent Simmons was spotted by our spies climbing them.” SlashFilm writes, making everything much easier for us.

With this in mind, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” opens in theaters in June 2009. It’s a long wait until then, but do stay tuned here for more details.
