Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges play two deceased cops now part of the so-called Rest in Peace Department, whose responsibility is to ensure that the dead don’t take over the world of the living, which they obviously plan on doing.
Directed by Robert Schwentke (“Red”), the film also stars Mary Louse Parker, Kevin Bacon, and Robert Nepper and, apparently, lots of CGI monsters that the two will have to face to keep us all safe and sound.
Though there are scenes in the trailer that hint at a potential CGI disaster in the final film, it plays out like a relatively fun spinoff on “Men in Black.”
We’ll see if that impression proves accurate when it arrives in theaters this June.
