Last November, photos of Tom Cruise on the set of “Mission: Impossible 5,” hanging on the side of a military plane flying over London, emerged online and went viral: this was a 52-year-old actor who, despite being in a position to let a stuntman do the most dangerous stuff for the film, chose to do his own stunts. The man’s dedication was nothing short of admirable.

We now have a first proper look at the stunt in question, as it’s included in the first teaser trailer for the fifth installment in the series, called “Rogue Nation.” The entire film promises to be very fast-paced and action-packed, more so than the previous one, “Ghost Protocol,” which successfully managed to bring the “MI” franchise back at the forefront.

“Rogue Nation” sees superspy Ethan Hunt and his team back for another mission, this time to “eradicate the Syndicate - an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF,” as per the official synopsis.

Supporting acts include Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin and Ving Rhames. “MI 5” is directed by writer-director Christopher McQuarrie, with whom Tom worked previously on “Jack Reacher,” yet another release that helped him consolidate his reputation as one of the industry’s leading action men.

“Mission: Impossible 5 - Rogue Nation” will be out in theaters this summer, in July. We should probably expect a full trailer to come out in the following weeks, so keep an eye on this space for more.
