A new 18-300 mm DX lens will be announced with the camera too

Earlier this month I told you the Nikon 1 J4 mirrorless camera was tipped to be announced soon. The device will be successor of the Nikon 1 J3 model, but back then I couldn’t bring you any more details.

However, new information lifts the veil off concerning the specs of the upcoming camera. First off, the Nikon 1 J4 will be a CX-mount mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (via NikonRumors).

Compared to its predecessor, the new camera won’t come bundling any major improvements, so don’t expect anything grand.

However, the camera will come equipped with an LCD touchscreen, as opposed to the 1 J3 that didn't have a touch display.

Moving on, the snapper will have a flash sync speed of 1/60s, the same that was available with the predecessor. Sadly, that’s all I have to report at the moment, but new information will probably become available in the upcoming weeks.

Alongside the mirrorless 1 4J camera, Nikon will also launch 18-300mm lens for DX-format cameras. Nikon is already selling an 18-300mm lens with max aperture of f/3.5-5.6 that has been unveiled back in 2012 and currently sells for less than $1,000 / €727 on Amazon.

As we wait for more news on the Nikon 1 J4, I should remind you the Nikon 1 J3 has been introduced at CES 2013 and sits somewhere in the middle of the 1-series, just below the newly launched 1 V3 and on top of the 1 S1, a low-end mirrorless camera.
