Square Enix and United Front Games have confirmed that the first story-themed add-on for Sleeping Dogs will be released on October 30, right on Halloween, and will feature zombie Triad members as well as Chinese vampires.

Sleeping Dogs delivered a realistic experience that put players in the shoes of Wei Shen, a Hong Kong cop who went undercover inside the Triads.

While the game tasked Wei Shen with taking down the criminal organization, its first story-based DLC, “Nightmare in North Point”, will deliver some more outlandish adventures for the cop.

According to Polygon, which attended the game’s panel at the New York Comic Con over the weekend, the DLC focuses on a gang member tortured and killed by the Triads, who comes back to life alongside an army of zombies.

As you can guess, Wei Shen is sent to take care of the undead menace. In order to make dealing with the zombies easier, he drinks a special tea that makes his fists emanate lightning.

After he defeats the undead, the hero also has to fight against the Jiang Shi, which are a sort of Chinese vampires. In order to make defeating them easier, Wei Shen will wield a sword made out of peach wood, which was traditionally used by monks in Chinese Taoist exorcisms.

No price has been announced for this special Sleeping Dogs DLC, but the developers did mention that it would be released on October 30, right on Halloween.

According to Square Enix, a few hours of new content will be added, so don’t expect it to cost a whole lot of money.

Look forward to hearing more details about Nightmare in North Point and about other DLC for Sleeping Dogs in the near future. Until then, in case you want to enrich your experience with the open-world game, a variety of bonus gear packs is available on the PC, PS3, or Xbox 360.
