Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” docu-film, made up of footage shot during rehearsals for the London series of concerts that was supposed to kick off just shortly after the day he passed away, drops in theaters at the end of October. It will be, as it’s already known, a very big release that will be followed by a DVD and soundtrack release and, presumably, also memorabilia. The first poster for “This Is It” is out and That Grape Juice has the first details about the production.

The poster, as you can see, shows Michael’s silhouette, which is actually made up by images seemingly taken from the documentary, from what one can see. Right above his head, there is a caption reading, “Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT, Like you’ve never seen him before.” From what an unnamed, but very reliable, source tells the aforementioned, music-oriented e-zine, the 100-130-minute film will certainly show the public a Michael they have never seen.

Unlike what fans initially believed, the docu-film will not be a two-hour-long concert rehearsal, but a combination of sequences showing most aspects that went into the making of “This Is It.” This also means shots of Michael in the dressing room, performing, in full costume and even trying his hand at directing, the source tells That Grape Juice. This, of course, also means shots of the dancers who rehearsed many hours a day to make the show one of the most spectacular performances ever, but also details about the production itself and how it was going to play out.

“Trailers are mostly done, and we’re waiting partly on the footage from the funeral which is being added in now. Expect to see the first ad premiere next weekend. I tried to press him on more info regarding the VMAs but couldn’t get a confirmation. […] The plan for the DVD is to have it out in late November by Thanksgiving or early December at the latest, although my source revealed this maybe [sic] a long shot if they extend the 2 week showing to 3 or 4 weeks (which is possible).” That Grape Juice writes.

A CD with the soundtrack will also be released after the movie and, much to the fans’ delight, it will include a brand-new song that Michael recorded in the last two years of his life. “Apparently the song is ‘off the hook’ and is currently being worked on by producers who are putting the finishing touches on it and is being considered to be issued as a single all around the world.” the e-zine writes, again citing the same reliable, inside source.
