Just a few changes in design

Early this week, we told you about a new Wind netbook that the Taiwanese manufacturer was planning to release later this year. As mentioned in our previous article, the upcoming netbook has been designed to meet the requirements of business users, which is why it will bring forth a more professional design, different from the current Wind model. It now appears that the first pictures of the new Wind U120, or Wind 2, have made their way onto the Internet, way ahead of the official release.

The pictures were uploaded by the guys over at Fudzilla and, from what we can see, there are quite a few differences between the U100 and the new U120 Wind netbooks. However, given that they are not at all that drastic, the U120 still reminds you that it's basically an evolved version of the initial MSI Wind netbook. We do, however, have to say that the upcoming Wind 2 does look a bit more interesting than its older counterpart, but whether the new design will help the netbook gain a bigger popularity among netbook enthusiasts is still to be determined.

Speaking strictly numbers, there aren't that many technical details available at this time, but as far as performance goes, the upcoming netbook should be similar - if not better - than MSI's current Wind netbook. That's because version 2 of MSI's ultraportable Wind system packs the same Intel Atom processor, and comes with the same 1GB of system RAM memory. It will also boast a 10-inch LCD screen, and will provide support for wireless 802.11n and 3.5G connectivity for better and enhanced Internet browsing.

Some details regarding the netbook's pricing and availability have been made public, and they have it that you will be able to purchase your own Wind 2 netbook, by the end of the year, for a price tag that should settle lower than $600.
