Quentin Tarantino's latest project is called “Django Unchained” and promises to be controversial, thought-provoking and, above all, incredibly awesome. Two official photos have just hit the net.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz, the film tells the story of a freed slave and a German bounty hunter who go up against an evil slaver.

For once, DiCaprio will be playing the villain and Waltz the good guy and, from the looks of the first two pics, they will be looking great while doing so.

Leo in particular looks stunning, especially since he's also rocking that trademark frown of his. It's Oscar time, as they say.

“There’s a beautiful way [Tarantino] found for the characters to talk to each other. It’s mindblowing. You’ve never heard it this way. You’ve seen movies deal with slavery — or westerns that never dealt with slavery – do it the safe way. This way is like… wow,” Foxx told EW about the film.

“Django Unchained” opens on Christmas Day.
