Earlier this week, Mariah Carey was named the newest judge on American Idol, coming to replace Jennifer Lopez, who opted out of another season. Whilst producers are negotiating for a Steven Tyler replacement as well, the first official pic with Mariah has been released.

You can see it attached to this article.

Mariah, who is officially the highest paid judge on reality TV of all time, is shown in a stunning tangerine dress, striking a sultry pose.

There's a body of water and a gorgeous sunset in the background, which is just the kind of fabulousness we would have expected of her.

Speaking of fabulousness, given the fact that Mariah is the first to admit she can be quite a diva when she wants to (which is most of the time), it's no small wonder that people are already talking about what she might do in terms of outrageous diva demands and behavior on the show.

PageSix reminds readers of the time when Mariah asked for a basket of puppies to be delivered to her dressing room, or that one time when she said she would attend some ceremony only if kittens were brought there as well.

“The pop princess is famously demanding on her backstage riders, which have included such necessities as baskets of puppies, furniture with 'no busy patterns,' 'vases of white roses' and a 'tea service for eight',” the e-zine writes.

“She once insisted, 'I don’t do stairs,' while other wild reports have said Carey has previously demanded a chauffeur for her dog, 'confetti shaped like butterflies' as well as 20 white kittens at a London appearance,” add the same media outlet.

Even assuming all this is true, fans needn't worry: Mariah won't be treated any differently from the other judges, mostly because “the show itself has many of its own branded requirements for stars to use the products of certain sponsors,” an insider says.

“It’s all standard stuff, nothing out of the ordinary. It’s not like they’ll need to put a new roof on the building. It’s standard lists, whether it’s for water, soda, veggies, snacks. It’s all fairly normal,” the spy goes on to explain.

Seeing how Mariah stands to make $17 or 18 million (€14.02 or 14.84 million) for just one season of the show, she'll be able to afford an entire truck full of puppies in her dressing room if she desires it.
