The first press photo of Nokia Lumia 822 leaked a few days ago, but the new live pictures that have just surfaced are stronger proof that the smartphone is closer to release than we might think.

Tagged with Verizon Wireless' branding, this is supposed to be a carrier-bounded version of the Lumia 820. Just like T-Mobile USA, which announced the upcoming availability of the Lumia 810, Verizon is expected to come forward with official word on the Lumia 822 launch.

So far, no details on the smartphone's price tag and launch date emerged, but we expect the device will hit shelves at Verizon in late October or early November.

It's likely that all Windows Phone 8 devices that have been recently confirmed in the US will be launched around the same timeframe.

According to the latest hearsay, AT&T will also release the Nokia Lumia 920 on November 4, so we can look at this date as a common launch date for the rest of Windows Phone 8 devices.

Obviously, these are just pure speculations until we get official word from the US-based carriers that are confirmed to offer variations of Nokia's Lumia 820 smartphone, as well as HTC's 8X and 8S handsets.

Today, the folks over at WMPoweruser were able to get their hands on the first live pictures of the Nokia Lumia 822.

Verizon's Windows Phone 8 device will be shipped with an impressive 8-megapixel rear camera, which features Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, autofocus, dual LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

It will also come with a secondary VGA camera for video calling, as shown in the pictures. Other specs of the Lumia 822 are still a mystery, but these photos also confirm it will support LTE technology as well. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
