"Lights Off" on iPhones

One of the main problems that the iPhone used to bring was that of lacking previously installed games for purchase. The "first native iPhone game", Lights Off, has just been released, in order to make up for the problem.

Several mobile game developers have seen potential in the iPhone's touch screen opportunities for introducing applications. Some of them started to appear right from the beginning, when Apple's phone was only recently released. Still, developers Lucs Newman and Asam Betts claim to be bringing the first such game.

It certainly looks like the beginning of a state of mobile game deploying, as "Lights Off" leaves the impression of a sketchy concept that fails in making the best of the iPhone's capabilities. Because of this, it would be pretty disappointing to see that Apple's phone has nothing more to offer.

"Lights Off" is a puzzle game, with high potential of becoming addictive as it usually happens with this type of applications. The objective is that of switching off all the lights on the screen. Tapping a light toggles it, along with the four adjacent lights. After this happens, the player will have the chance of moving on to the next level.

Third party developers have made great efforts to make applications capable of working on the iPhone. Unfortunately, A&T's network leaves no room for such games and makes it harder than it would seem to actually have them running on the personal handset. The same goes for "Lights Off", although it manages to blend in perfectly with the phone's design. The game looks as if it has been packed with the iPhone with its release, which is a performance hard to top.
