Shortly after confirming that Max Payne 3 is now scheduled to arrive in March, 2012, Rockstar has now released the first video for the new title, all composed of in-game footage and gameplay.

Max Payne 3 has been in development for quite some time, costing its publisher, Rockstar, a lot of money, so you know the company is going to deploy its top notch marketing efforts for the title ahead of its March release next year.

We've already seen the first concrete details about its story and how Max Payne is a changed man, at least visually, from the first two titles, but the first actual trailer for the new title shows fans that he's still the grizzled and troubled anti-hero we know and love.

"Still haunted by the memories of his traumatic past, Max begins a new life working private security protecting a wealthy industrialist and his family in São Paulo, Brazil," Rockstar revealed about the story. "When gangs target the family under his protection, Max is forced to fight to save his clients and clear his name, in a bid to, once and for all, rid himself of the demons that have tortured him for far too long."

The video starts with the classic Max Payne theme and shows just how the protagonist got entangled in the plots and intrigues from Sao Paolo and how he decides to do whatever it takes in order to rescue a girl that was kidnapped under his watch.

As you'll see below, the trailer highlights the cinematic moments of the new game, but we also get to check out some actual gameplay, all powered by a new and improved version of the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE).

Max Payne 3, at least according to the company, will deliver a "dark, gritty action experience that is sure to satisfy newcomers and fans to the historic franchise," and is already set to be one of the most important releases of next year, when it's going to be launched on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Until then, check out the first trailer for Max Payne 3 below.
