The first editions of the Dota 2 Year Beast Brawl haven't gone according to plan, as the rush of players who wanted to experience the new mode caused servers to go offline. Valve has rolled out three different updates, but so far, things still aren't looking good.

Dota 2 got its first major in-game event of the year this week, in the form of New Bloom Festival 2015, which marks the upcoming Chinese New Year and brings forth a new hero, a new Arcana for Crystal Maiden, a themed map, and much, much more.

Year Beast Brawl isn't off to the best start

Among the new things is the Year Beast Brawl mode, which offers players the chance to fight alongside a Year Beast against an opposing team for all sorts of rewards. However, in order to prevent item farming and other exploits, Valve decided to allow players into Year Beast Brawl during 10-minute windows that took place throughout the day.

As promised, Valve kicked off the very first Year Beast Brawl events earlier today, and as expected by many, they ended up being complete failures, as players weren't able to connect at all to the Dota 2 network during the 10-minute window for the mode, and those who did manage to enter a game got disconnected.

New updates are available

Not one but three different updates have already been rolled out for the game, according to the analysis on Reddit, in order to fix server crashes, offer bonus activity points to those affected by the network errors, and fix a few more problems, such as the visual ones affecting Crystal Maiden.

Meanwhile, fans are asking for at least a practice mode for Year Beast Brawl, in order to see what the fuss is all about, while others have already made some video parodies of the whole event and Valve's attitude towards it.
