Archos will have several Elements tablets up for sale eventually, but none of them has been released yet, something that will change this month if this report is anything to go by.

Long story short, the first in the line, called 97 Carbon, will be available starting this month (July, 2012), for $250.

Measuring 9.7 inches, it will run a 1 GHz single-core CPU, 1 GB of RAM, an unspecified storage capacity (16/32/64 GB NAND Flash), an HDMI output and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Speaking of which, the Android OS will have some additions, like on-screen volume controls.

The rest of the software will be pretty common though: a pre-loaded Office suite, News Republic app, Brief Me app, Google Maps, Google+, etc.

After the 97 Carbon, Archos will release 7-inch and 8-inch slates as well, also part of the Elements series.
