Chillingo Ltd., Europe’s premier iPhone publisher, has signed an agreement with independent mobile development studio Redshift for the release of “The Quest,” the iPhone's first 3D Fantasy Role Playing Game (RPG).

According to the official description of the game, players engage in a sinister 3D world of mystery and magic where they must choose from five customizable races with an array of skills, weapons, armor and enchantments. A non-linear realm encompassing four different cities is where the action takes place. The game combines puzzle elements (card games, brain-teasing quests) with role playing features such as physical clashes with dangerous foes.

“The Quest, which already has a cult following in other mobile platforms is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The ambient visual and sound effects, long and provocative story line rendered in continuous 3D graphics set a new benchmark for Fantasy RPGs in the App Store.” says Chris Byatte, cofounder and Director of Chillingo.

Publishers of successful iPhone titles such as Zen Bound (winner of multiple awards in the recent Independent Games Festival Mobile 2009 and the International Mobile Gaming Awards), Chillingo also published “iDracula – Undead Awakening,” a recent addition to the App Store, which ranked in the No.1 slot four days after its release.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with our long-term publisher Chillingo on 'The Quest' for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPhone App Store is very competitive, but with Chillingo’s marketing resources ‘The Quest’ stands a chance to be a real commercial success.” said Attila Szlobodnik, cofounder of Redshift.

The Quest is also on track to receive its first official expansion pack “Islands of Fire and Ice” in the second quarter of 2009. Currently, The Quest for iPhone and iPod touch is priced at $5.99 and is available for immediate download using the link below.
