This weekend, the developer of well-known applications such as Firefox and Thunderbird, released several updates to enhance the security of these two solutions. As you know, the battle between Mozilla's Firefox and Microsoft's Internet Explorer is more and more interesting because it can cause only an improved performance for the customers. Some time ago, a security company released an advisory sustaining the software giant fixed all the flaws identified in its browser in comparison with Mozilla's application that can make users' computers vulnerable to attacks.

"As part of Mozilla Corporation's ongoing stability and security update process, Firefox 1.5.0.10 and Firefox 2.0.0.2 are now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux for free download. Due to the security fixes, we strongly recommend that all Firefox users upgrade to these latest releases. Note: Firefox 1.5.0.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until April 24, 2007. All users are encouraged to upgrade to Firefox 2," Mozilla sustained in the security advisory.

As you surely know, Firefox users are able to update its solutions automatically by using the auto-update function or manually using the Check for updates features available under the Help menu.

So, it seems like the battle between Internet Explorer and Firefox continues. In the past, the two browsers challenged one another for the best application award by releasing new versions containing interesting functions. Some time ago, Firefox was the first browser that introduced tab browsing, a function also implemented by Microsoft's Internet Explorer in the latest version of the program. It's obvious the two browsers will continue to exist side by side but, as far I can see, more and more users are opting for Mozilla's product.

The latest version of the Mozilla Firefox browser was also tested by Softpedia and it is available as a free download on this link.
