If you are a frequent user of elevators, you probably know that when the machinery lurches to a stop between floors, your first response may be to panic. That's exactly what a 4-year-old girl from Reading, Massachusetts, did when she got stuck in an elevator together with her mother and brother.

Kaelyn Kerr and her mom Kristin were on their way to a salon to get the girl a haircut, when they got stuck inside the elevator. Today tells us that two firefighters from the Reading Fire Department were called to help get the family out of the jammed lift.

Rescuers lowered a ladder down, because it was the only way to get them out of there, but Kaelyn was too scared to climb up. That's when the two firefighters, both parents themselves, got creative. They asked the little girl what her favorite movie was, and when she said Frozen, they began singing “Let It Go” from Disney's popular movie.

Their song proved efficient, as they eventually managed to ease the fear of the little girl and calm her down. After the artistic performance of the firefighters, the child was more comfortable climbing up the ladder.

Kristin said her daughter loved both the movie and the song, so the rescuers' idea was actually brilliant. She added that she was impressed by the firefighters serenading her daughter.
