If you were looking for a lovely story to brighten up your day, search no more, as this one will surely do the job: a few days back, a little corgi dog needed the help of firefighters to get it out of trouble after it became trapped inside a reclining chair.

The three-year-old pooch, called Princess, was taking a nap under the chair and it inadvertently got stuck in the scissor mechanism when its owner sat down without noticing his four-pawed friend was snoozing underneath.

The desperate owner tried his best to free the pet, but his efforts were in vain, so he called for help. A team of eight firefighters were dispatched to their house in Capel Hendre, and had to dismantle the recliner using cutting gear to liberate the corgi.

“The owner tried to free the dog by taking off the reclining chair’s nuts and bolts but in the end decided to call for assistance instead,” one of the rescuers said, according to the South Wales Guardian.

“The owner was obviously very relieved when we managed to get her out and the dog’s tail was wagging so I guess she was pretty happy too.”

This was probably one of the most awkward cases firefighters had to respond to this week.
