Developer Red 5 Studios has announced that its Firefall MMO now has more than 500,000 registered members and that the company is now ready to reveal the PC system requirements for the game, which will allow a large number of players to get and play the title.

The minimum system requirements are:

Windows XP either the 32 or the 64 bit version; Dual core 2.6 Ghz Athon 64 x2, Athlon II x2, Phenom II x2 or dual core 2.2 Ghz Core 2, Core i3, Pentium Dual Core; DirectX 9 compatible AMD or Nvidia video card with 1GB of RAM, starting at ATI Radeon HD 4550 or Nvidia Geforce 8600; 4 GB of RAM.

Recommended system requirements include:

Windows XP either the 32 or the 64 bit version; Quad core 2.8 Ghz Athlon II X4, Phenom, Phenom II X4 or quad core 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Quad, i5, i7; AMD/ATI Radeon HD 4850 or Nvidia Geforce GTS 450; 4 GB of RAM.

Mark Kern, who is chief executive officer at Red 5, stated, “The feedback and support from our community has been an integral part of the development process. We’re treating Firefall as a service, which means it’s critical that we’re continually adding value and fun for players.”

“Having a large and growing community lets us know that we’re on the right track. But more importantly, their feedback helps us stay on the right track,” he further said.

Firefall has recently completed its first phase of the beta and the developers will now implement a number of changes to the game, all based around the feedback that players have offered.

As the beta progresses, more players will be invited to join in so that Red 5 Studios can test the game mechanics and its infrastructure.

Firefall will mix the MMO base with elements taken from both the role-playing and the first-person shooter genre.
