Online maps tend to become a feature that is going to be developed by multiple companies because users are looking for a powerful solution that can display powerful images from all around the world. As you might know, Google and Yahoo are only two of the companies that developed maps services, Google Maps and Yahoo Maps representing the best solutions on the internet. At this time, Google also provides a downloadable application that offers the same functions as the online solution but you can access the maps directly from your desktop.

Today, I'll present you another map service with an innovative feature that was never implemented by the giant companies. MapQuest is a company that is based on maps and other services that help customers find places in the entire world. Today, the firm announced that its map service is now able to provide you gas information, displaying you the lowest prices for specific areas.

"Finding gas stations online is one of the many place searches that users can perform with MapQuest'srenowned and comprehensive Points of Interest database, which contains more than 15 million places. Utilizing pricing data from Oil Pricing Information Service (OPIS), a leading provider of petroleumspot, rack and retail news and pricing information, which is updated up to seven times per day, thesite allows users to easily find fuel stations, get maps and directions and check gas prices all inone place," MapQuest said in a press release.

Google is a company that is continuously improving its map service with new features because the battle is now more difficult so we should expect an improvement in the search giant's service soon. Although this is only the beginning of an assault over the giant services, the battle for the most powerful solution is extremely useful for us, the users, because it can produce only well-developed solutions with improved performance.
