The Sit N Joy massage chair from Astone

Massage chairs are among the most popular relaxation devices around, but they're typically pretty bulky, extremely expensive (at least the high-end ones) and require special installation conditions (close vicinity to a power outlet, for starters). However, it would seem that things in this area are about to change, since a company called Astone has just developed the Sit N Joy, which provides certain advanced massage functions, although it's basically an inflatable item.

Thus, the device looks just like an ordinary inflatable chair at the first sight, the type one usually sees around the swimming pool, beach or those calm country lakes. It sports 4 air chambers (for an increased level of safety and durability) and is manufactured from a class K70, 0.4mm-thick PVC material, which prevents it from getting torn or punched through.

However, the Sit N Joy has a lot more up its sleeve. Thus, the chair comes packed with 4 vibrating massage pads, which cover 3 massaging areas. Furthermore, it also incorporates a massage controller for choosing different modes, position, strength and timer, all of the aforementioned components being, quite obviously, waterproof.

The inflatable device from Astone also offers a few interesting multimedia functions, namely built-in 50mm, 32 ohm, 0.5 watt stereo speakers, which can be connected to an MP3 player / iPod stored in the built-in waterproof storage box. The whole thing is powered by 4 x AA batteries, stored in a special waterproof compartment, which provide an overall functioning life of around 2 hours.

As expected, the Sit N Joy provides a high level of comfort, especially since its dimensions (1800 mm x 1130 mm x 980 mm) allow it to fit just about anyone, as long as their body weight is under 100 kilos.

More importantly, the device is quite affordable, since it retails for just around 122 US dollars, a pretty OK price for such an ultra-portable massage chair (and no, unfortunately the pretty lady in the picture doesn't come packed with the Sit N Joy, although that would have really been something, don't you think?)

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
