10 years of Final Fantasy VII deserve a proper event

Happy birthday Final Fantasy VII! In case you didn't know Square Enix is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its most acclaimed title, FF VII, through an Anniversary Gallery held in Tokyo. This exhibition will last till September 2nd and in case you get to visit the Gallery, you shouldn't miss the wonderful artwork and illustrations on display.

It turns out that there's even a copy of the long-awaited Crisis Core title, in the shape of an UMD disk, inserted in a slim PSP. Sony's portable console uses its new TV-out support, being connected to a big screen TV where we can see Zack holding his sword, being surrounded by black and white feathers. Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core will be launched in Japan on September 13 and it seems that Square Enix will chase out the bad luck of this date, by launching 77.777 bundle pack units, that include the game and a slim PSP.

Since FF VII is now a ten year old title, we might even see a revamped version of it surfacing, for the next-gen consoles, especially for the PS3. In case you get to visit the wonderful Anniversary Gallery, you'll notice that Square Enix also has on display the accessories that Cloud Strife usually wore during battles. Also, the superb Midgar futuristic city is available in a scaled down plastic version, a pretty big one actually.

Did I mention that Final Fantasy VII is my all-time favorite game? Of course the above-mentioned gallery caused some intense drooling and I want so much to embark on a plane and go to Japan right now. The other alternative would be to wait for Crisis Core to surface and buy it, even if I will be playing the Japanese version. Incomprehensible foreign languages never stopped a fan from playing his favorite title, did they?
