Fin wraps around the thumb and uses built-in sensors to detect movements

From your head to your wrist, all major parts of your body seem to be targeted by wearable device markers these days. So I give you the Fin smart ring, a circular finger mount that enables users to control smart devices by virtue of hand gestures.

Fin’s built-in sensors allows them to track finger movements in relation to the user's palm. It’s smart enough to distinguish between each segment of your finger and convert your hand into a numerical keypad. Even a palm reader fortuneteller would be jealous of that.

The producing company provides some examples of how you might actually use the technology, which includes adjusting the volume / charging channels on a Smart TV by a swipe of a thumb or controlling your smartphone while you’re on the road.

Fin also has an LED indicator and a lithium-ion battery to power everything up, which can be recharged via a MicroUSB port. And on top of everything, the ring is supposed to be dust proof and waterproof.

Fin has also proven compatibility with iOS, Android and Windows phone. If you like the idea of a wearable you can have on your finger, you should know Fin is hosting a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo asking for a $130 / €95 pledge.

The ring is available in white, orange, black, blue and green. Go Planet!
