In the year of the sequels that 2014 is shaping up to be, there is one sequel, above all, that incites excitement from movie fans, but sadly that's the one project that's being kept under a lock and key.

The success of the last James Bond movie, “Skyfall,” which went on to become one of the highest-earning movies at the box office ever, insured that the sequel, so far only known as “James Bond 24,” was going to get a lot of attention both from fans and the press.

Unfortunately for both categories, details are scarce at this point, as director Sam Mendes seems to have enforced a very strict code of secrecy on everyone involved. Screerant had a talk with screenwriter John Logan, but couldn't pry any details out of him whatsoever.

Logan joked during his interview that Sam Mendes would probably “rappel through the window and kill [him]” if he gave anything away, something which gives an idea about the level of secrecy being enforced.

Ralph Fiennes, a new addition to the cast, who is set to take the role of M from Judi Dench, has also been tight-lipped in regards to production details, but he did reveal that filming on the next Bond adventure was going to start in October this year.

The release date on “James Bond 24” is November 2015, which means the production team has a little over a year to complete the project, something that's generally considered a pretty generous time frame in today's film industry.

The only other detail that has trickled into the media is the fact that this next Bond movie is going to mark a return to its darker, edgier roots, back in the days when the 007 badge was worn by Sean Connery.

Apart from newcomer Ralph Fiennes, viewers will be glad to hear most of the cast from the previous films will be making their return on screen: Naomie Harris is set to reprise her role as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw is going to play Q again, and James Bond is going to be portrayed again by Daniel Craig.

For those who don't remember, “Skyfall” was the first Bond movie ever to break the one billion dollar mark in box office earnings, making it the most successful in the series by far and also adding a lot of pressure on the shoulders of returning director Sam Mendes.
