Electronic Arts must be pleased with the performance that its games on the United Kingdom market. After EA Sports Active managed to take Wii Fit down from its top position, Fight Night Round 4 battled its way to the top position on its first week on sale.

The game is the follow-up to a very good title, Fight Night Round 3, and initial reviews are also saying that it manages to capture the feel of the sports while introducing a wide array of boxers that the gamer can play around with.

Fight Night Round 4 dislodged Prototype, a game created by Activision, the main rival of Electronic Arts, from the number one spot and this precipitated a drop in rank for most of the videogames in the chart.

The Sims 3, another Electronic Arts title which debuted at number one, is now in third position as players are still interested in the simulated life that it offers, while Wii Fit slid down one place to reach number four.

Another sports game focusing on violence, UFC 2009: Undisputed from THQ, sits at number five and shows no signs of shooting up in the charts, while a new entry, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, only managed to make it as far as number six. The movie tie-in did not enjoy the same success as the film, which also debuted this week, showing that players are still wary of these kinds of games, which are usually below par in the value department.

Call of Duty: World at War slid to number seven, closely stalked by Virtua Tennis 2009 from SEGA. EA Sports Active is sitting at number nine, with the new Ghostbusters game bringing up the rear of the chart, going down no less than six places.
