This year's Festival of the Winds resulted in several kites mimicking the appearance of various animals species being flown into the atmosphere above Sydney, Australia.

Apparently, one such kite that was supposed to represent a humpback whale was pretty much the same size as the real deal, and spectators argue that seeing it being lift up into the air was one of the most impressive images they ever got to see in their lives.

In case anyone was wondering, this particular gathering was one of Australia's largest events revolving around professional kite flying.

Although it may be true that the end-goal was pure entertainment, it can also be argued that seeing these animal-shaped kites being flown through the air can help raise some awareness with respect to environmental protection and animal species conservation.
