Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas and Cheryl Cole are good friends. They even share secrets and talk about details of their personal life, it would seem. In a recent interview, Fergie dished advice for Cheryl, telling her to follow her heart about the reconciliation with her ex-husband.

As we also noted on several previous occasions, Cheryl and Ashley are believed to be together again, even though they got divorced last year after he cheated on her with at least five women.

The entire scandal played out in the media and, mostly because of that, it left many of Cheryl’s fans convinced that she would never take him back, assuming he’d ever dare ask her that.

After she returned from the US humiliated for being dumped from the US X Factor, Cheryl got in touch with Ashley again, and the two are now believed to be dating and, what’s more, talking about getting married again.

Fergie doesn’t blame Cheryl if all this is true, she says in an interview cited by The Sun. If that’s what Cheryl feels is the right thing to do, then she should totally follow her heart.

“Ashley really hurt her and I couldn’t see her at the time ever taking him back. But she needs to follow her own heart. It’s easy for people to say she’s crazy taking him back, but life isn’t as simple as that,” the singer says of her friend.

“If the love is still there and she truly believes he’s changed then she should go for it if that’s what she wants. It doesn’t matter what family, friends or her management team say, it’s her life and her decision,” Fergie adds.

Moreover, she says Cheryl never really wanted to divorce her cheating ex-husband but, at the time, it seemed like that was the only choice she was left with.

“The next chance will be Ashley’s last chance, there’s no doubt about that,” Fergie says. “Cheryl’s a lot stronger than she was two years ago,” she adds.

“The relationship will be on her terms. It will be her who wears the trousers this time, and he won’t be able to put a foot wrong,” the Black Eyed Peas singer explains.

Cheryl is now in LA, where she’s already met with good friend and ex-boyfriend Derek Hough, breaking the news to him about the reconciliation over dinner.

He wasn’t as understanding as Fergie, as we also informed you yesterday.
