Besides the bedroom, the resting room where everything must be peaceful and relaxing, Feng Shui provides methods for decorating the others room in our house in order to have a comfortable living space and a balanced spiritual state of mind.

In the living room you should place a fireplace and make it the focus of the room, as the fire stimulates and enhances passionate living and the flow of Chi.

Clear clutter and avoid over crowding the room with pieces of furniture that are not necessary, in order to keep the energy flowing freely and circularly all around the living room, instead of making it stagnant or chaotic.

If your living room is small, use a big mirror to make the place look larger and brighter, but avoid placing it in such a way that the reflection cuts your head when you are standing or seating. You should be able to see yourself properly in the mirror, or at least your face.

Fill the empty spaces or corners with sculptures, ornamental objects and replace dried up plants with fresh ones, as they promote luck, harmony and peace of mind and absorb the negative energy. Different shaped crystal objects are very important, as they disseminate and spread cosmic energy to all the corners of the room.

Place the sofa in the corner farthest from the door and windows, but you should be able to see the door as it gives a feeling of certainty. Also, it should be next to a wall, as the wall provides protection and security.

The layout of seating is very important (chairs, armchairs etc.) and they should be arranged in circle or octagonally. Also, make sure that the number of seats is even and there is enough space for all the guests to move around the room.

Use color, light and images that give you and your guests a feeling of harmony, prosperity, happiness and well-being. These will turn the living room into a warm and cozy place. Some recommendations for the pictures you use in the living room would consists of: images of swimming fish symbolize longevity, landscapes depicting sunrise, mountains or waterfall stand for hope and luck. Do not use dark or vivid colored images or paintings with geometric shapes, because the trajectory of the Chi flux is circular.

It is very important to choose the color of the carpets or of the floor so that it corresponds to the direction of the room according to the Baqua map. For example, if the living room is placed in a southeastern direction, the carpet should be violet; if it is eastern it should be green etc.
