Feedly has just announced that it has integrated Microsoft OneNote directly into its service. The RSS reader service already comes with integration for several tools, including Pocket, Evernote, Hootsuit, Readability and LinkedIn.

Microsoft OneNote is a cross-platform application that works on multiple devices and which enables users to capture, store and share ideas, thoughts and information, which means that it fits perfectly with the news-oriented Feedly.

“Feedly and OneNote share the goal of helping you work smarter, better and more efficiently. That’s why we’re so excited about the integration of our two services,” the announcement reads.

Feedly has added a button that enables users to save stories that matter to them directly to the OneNote account with a single click. Once this is done, the entry can be put into a category, edited, annotated or shared with others that can access it from anywhere.

All you need to do is browse Feedly as usual, open a story and click on the OneNote icon in the list. The first time you use OneNote, you’ll have to sign into the Microsoft account or create one. Once the accounts are linked, the process will only require a single click.

Saving to OneNote will become a Feedly Pro feature. However, until April 17, everyone can get to try it out as Microsoft has agreed to sponsor the feature on Feedly until then.

OneNote usually comes packed with Microsoft Office, as well as pre-installed on Windows Phone. The app can be downloaded for free for Windows, Mac OS X, iPad, iPhone and Android devices, but can also be used on the web.

The feature, as mentioned, will also work on mobile. The updated Feedly apps that come with OneNote integration are on the way. The iOS version, for instance, is already being reviewed by Apple and will be released soon.

Feedly Pro offers a bunch of additional features for users who are willing to shell out a monthly or annual fee. For $5 (€3.6) per month or $45 (€32.3) per year, Feedly users can get a few extra features. For instance, they’ll be able to search within the content on Feedly, get updates from smaller sites 30 minutes sooner, or customize their sharing experience.

Furthermore, integrations with Pocket, Evernote, Hootsuite, Readability and LinkedIn are also limited to the Pro version.

Subscribers will also get the VIP treatment when it comes to their questions and issues related to Feedly, as their problems will be taken care of ahead of everyone else’s.
