This week, in the Fedora world, some interesting events have taken place. The Anaconda installer received some updates and the "Fedora win32 livecd-iso-to-usb" tool was born.

Here are some of the bugs solved for Anaconda:

In Fedora 7 we've got: ■ Bugzilla Bug 243159: Upgrade does not recognize existing install (backported fix) ■ Bugzilla Bug 350491: Anaconda crashes when using kickstart post script (backported fix) ■ Bugzilla Bug 241395: FC6 -> F7 anaconda upgrade traceback (backported fix)

While in Fedora 8, we have only one bugfix: ■ Bugzilla Bug 367731: anaconda fails on Via VPSD motherboard (i586 hardware -many duplicates, backported fix).

Michael De Haan, on a discussion at FUDCon on the use of Debian-style net-install ISOs, said that by using this type of ISOs there would be a lot of bandwidth savings. On the same issue, Les Mikesell said that the usage of a proxy to cache large files might be very useful for those who use this often.

Max Spevack is challenging the Art Team with the creation of a new generation of Fedora themed T-Shirts, for general use and for special events. Besides these two, he wants to see some crazy stuff on those tees based on Fedora 9 codename.

Now, let's move on to the security advisories. Let's start with Fedora 7:

■ icu-3.6-20.fc7 ■ kernel-2.6.23.14-64.fc7 ■ xine-lib-1.1.10-1.fc7 ■ kdebase-3.5.8-31.fc7 ■ SDL_image-1.2.5-7.fc7 ■ kernel-2.6.23.14-60.fc7 ■ deluge-0.5.8.3-1.fc7

Fedora 8 is the next one:

■ icu-3.8-5.fc8 ■ xine-lib-1.1.10-1.fc8 ■ rb_libtorrent-0.12-3.fc8 ■ SDL_image-1.2.6-5.fc8 ■ kdebase-3.5.8-31.fc8 ■ rb_libtorrent-0.12-3.fc8 ■ deluge-0.5.8.3-1.fc8

I advise you to apply these security fixes so everything will run smoothly and without making you worry about anything. If you don't have Fedora 8, download it right now from Softpedia!
