Another step towards Fedora 9 Final

If you're anxious to see what Fedora 9 has in stock for you, you now have a cure for that itch in your fingers: Fedora 9 Preview was launched yesterday, as announced by Jesse Keating. Testers, developers and even curious normal users will be glad to get their hands on the fresh Preview, because it is very close to what Fedora 9 will be like.

The final edition of Fedora 9 is expected to be released on May 13th, and in a few days, to be more exact on the 22nd, the Release Candidate will be available for testing.

Jesse Keating said on the fedora-announce mailing list: "After some minor delays (like all rawhide flights grounded for a few days of repair...), the Fedora Project is proud to announce the release of Fedora 9 Preview!

This is a Preview release, it is fairly close to what the final product will be like. This is the most critical release for the Fedora community to use and test and report bugs on. This is the last major public release before the final GOLD Fedora 9 release on May 13th (we hope)."

He also added, thanking the Fedora community:"Thanks again for all the great testing work that the greater community does throughout our development cycle! You make Fedora possible. You are Fedora!"

About Fedora:

Fedora is an RPM-based Linux distribution, developed by a growing community of developers, artists, testers and Linux enthusiasts and sponsored by Red Hat. Fedora appeared in 2003, when Red Hat Linux was discontinued, and Red Hat Linux Enterprise (it is the only officially supported distribution by Red Hat) was created. One of Fedora's main objectives is to not only contain free and open source software, but also to be on the leading edge of such technologies.
