In case you’re expecting something to be delivered via FedEx, watch out for fake emails sent out by cybercriminals in an effort to distribute a piece of malware.

The scam emails have the subject line “Package for you” and they appear to come from FedEx UK.

“We have a package for you! Unfortunately some important information is missing to complete the delivery. Please follow the link to verify your identity: verify your identity now! You have 24 hours to compleate the verification! Otherwise the package will be returned to sender!” the emails read.

According to Hoax Slayer, the “verify your identity now” link points to a fake FedEx website that instructs users to download a so-called “FedEx Verification Manager” application.

The FedEx Verification Manager is actually a piece of malware that’s likely designed to steal sensitive information from infected systems. Beware!
