Nothing seems to be stopping this so-called downward spiral

Another month, another report about the PC market flagging. Now we see, beyond doubt, that even China with its many citizens can't compensate for the rest of the world dragging its feet.

In 2012, China accounted for over 21% of global PC shipments.

Sadly, Europe and the US have been going through a slow period. Europe's been going slow for years actually.

In February, global shipments went down by about 2%.

Between that and the unlikelihood of March improving things much, it is expected that the first quarter of 2013 will bring along a drop of over 10 %, instead of the 7.7% predicted previously.

“Our February monthly data suggest that we could see a drop touching double-digits in the first quarter and a mid-single-digit decline in the second quarter before we see any recovery in the second half of the year,” said Loren Loverde, program vice president, worldwide PC trackers at IDC.
