14 DAY TRIAL // Michael Lohan, the estranged father of actress, one-time singer and fashion designer Lindsay Lohan, is convinced that his daughter’s life is spinning out of control and that she might actually be in grave danger because of her current lifestyle. As such, he’s having his attorney make the first moves towards placing her under conservatorship, with him as her guardian, TMZ has learned.
As many of you might remember, Britney Spears’ dad Jamie did the same a couple of years back, when her behavior on public outings had gotten so erratic that many actually feared for her life. After a few rehab stints that she never completed, a couple of meltdowns with paparazzi present to snap her every move and another meltdown in the presence of her children, a judge ruled that Britney needed help to handle both her finances and her personal life.
The same might happen to Lindsay too, if Michael has a say in it and gets to convince a judge that this could be in her best interest. “Michael Lohan tells TMZ he’s on his way to his lawyer’s office to start the Lindsay Lohan conservatorship ball rolling. As we reported this weekend, Michael was giving Lindsay an ultimatum – either meet with him today or he’s going to court. Our Lindsay sources say she wasn’t keen on a tête-à-tête – actually, she said no way would she sit down with daddy,” TMZ says.
As it happens, Lindsay did not have the talk with Michael, though, at the time of the report, he was singing an entirely different tune. “Here’s what’s ironic. Michael says Lindsay did text him that she wanted him to help smooth things over with the bouncers from Trousdale, the club she was reportedly banned from after allegedly throwing a glass at Sam Ronson. What a mess,” TMZ concludes by saying.
While all this is going on, and Michael continues to tell whoever might listen that he will do the impossible to get his daughter in rehab and en route to recovery, Dina fight back – also via the media. In statements released to most US publications, Lindsay’s mother says Michael is a danger to her daughters Lindsay and Ali, that he should be arrested and placed in jail, and insists there is absolutely nothing wrong with Linds.
