14 DAY TRIAL // He’s always been heavy, which is probably why he chose to go by the stage name Fat Joe in the first place. With his latest video, the rapper has unveiled a much slimmer figure, which begs the question of what he should call himself next.
With the video for “Drop a Body,” his latest single, Fat Joe also shows off a much slimmer figure, which, as the Daily Mail puts it, makes him almost unrecognizable from his former self, it not for the close-ups on his face.

The British publication notes that Joe didn’t mention in recent interviews if he was on a diet or not, but estimates that he must have dropped about 100 pounds since the last time he was seen in public.
With this in mind, it’s safe to say that he did put some effort into it, it didn’t just happen overnight.
“The 40-year-old has belied his moniker by losing a staggering 100lbs and shows off his new physique in his latest video,” the Mail writes.
“In the video Drop A Body, Joe looks a shadow of his former self and is hardly recognizable as he raps to the camera,” the tab says.
“Real name Joseph Antonio Cartagena, the Bronx native has had to lose the weight because of ‘health reasons,’ according to reports. Joe has always been heavy and caught a lot of criticism from more chiseled rappers like 50 Cent who had made fun of his large midsection,” the Mail notes.
It also says that this is not the first time that Joe has dropped so many pounds: back in 3005, he lost about 80 pounds after learning of a new diet on Oprah.
At the time, he did it by cutting out carbs and fried foods from his daily menu, and working out every day, but it wasn’t without sacrifice that he managed to do this, since he gave up his favorite foods.
