Vin Diesel has confirmed that the latest film in the “Fast & Furious” series will be hitting cinema screens after the tragic death of actor Paul Walker put a big question sign over the whole production.

The “Fast & Furious” star Vin Diesel has taken to Facebook to let fans know that movie will be made, in spite of rumors of cancellation, posting a picture with him and Walker, that featured their last scene together.

He wrote “The last scene we filmed together... There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared... in the film we were now completing... the magic captured... and, in just how far we've come...,” giving the release date of the next “Fast & Furious” film as April 10, 2015.

He added “P.s. He'd want you to know first.” This comes to disprove the latest announcement by Universal pictures that put the film on hold indefinitely. Prior to Walker's death, the film was slated for release on July 11, 2014.

The team was in the middle of the shooting process but was given a Thanksgiving break on November 30, when Paul Walker died in an car crash that also took the life of business partner and friend Roger Rodas. Paul was in the passenger seat when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT spun out of control at high speed, crashed into a lamp post and broke out in flames.

This latest announcement by Diesel enforces the speculations that Brian O'Connor, Paul's character, will be played by someone else. There were theories that pop star Justin Bieber might get the role, but now it looks more like the studio is trying to get Cody Walker, Paul's brother, to step in as a body double.

Cody has previously worked as a stuntman and has also roughly the same frame as his brother and even the same facial features. Producers will probably use him for the far shots and then add Paul's face using CGI for the close-ups.
