Ubisoft released a brand new teaser trailer for Far Cry 4, showing some of the humans and animals you'll be murdering while assisting the people of Kyrat's fight against the oppression of Pagan Min.

In the upcoming first-person shooter, you play the role of Ajay Ghale, a Kyrati native returning to his homeland to fulfill his mother's dying wish and scatter her ashes. Unfortunately, things are not always sunny in the fictional Himalayan country, and you find yourself in the middle of a full-blown civil war.

The self-proclaimed King of Kyrat, Pagan Min, is a bloodthirsty tyrant trying to enforce his rule upon the land, and the Golden Path rebellion is trying to get rid of him and his henchmen.

Fulfilling your ancestral duty

Of course, returning to a country you know nothing about and share nothing with quickly prompts you to become involved in its plight, and your story becomes a tad more complicated than originally planned.

You have to find a way to solve the stalemate between Amita and Sabal, the leaders of the two different factions within the Golden Path, in order for the rebellion to succeed. However, their views on the future of Kyrat are very different, and it is your mission to discover which of the two paths you believe in and see it to completion.

Your journey through Kyrat's open world and your actions will eventually affect the outcome of the civil war and will shape the entire future of the small Himalayan country.

Torn between the old and the new

Sabal, the traditionalist leader of the movement, believes that Kyrat's heritage and culture are the real legacy, the real value of the country, and that Kyrat needs its traditions in order to bring its people to stability.

He often seeks guidance from the religious teachings of Kyra, Kyrat's set of mystical beliefs, and knows how to employ religion as a political tool, to manipulate people into doing what he deems right.

Amita, on the other hand, is trying to secure a radical shift from the country's traditional values, being the first woman to take up arms and train alongside men, and attempting to free Kyrat from oppression by any means necessary.

She wants the country to evolve from the old ways and to be rebuilt on a solid financial foundation, seeing a firm support in Kyrat's lucrative drug trade, which she wants to use in order to fund the rebellion.
