An astounding 10,000 people have already signed a petition to remove rock band Metallica as headliners of the Glastonbury Festival, with the music event just a few weeks away from its scheduled starting date.

On June 28, James Hetfield and the rest of the band are set to take the stage at the large festival, but more and more people are adding their names to the list that will see them removed from the performers.

The reason for this massive wave of negativity is that James Hetfield has announced he will be narrating a TV series about the killing of bears in Alaska. Most of the people who reacted are animal rights activists who don't think that History TV's series should be aired and now they're taking their anger out on Metallica.

A Facebook profile under the name of “Remove Metallica from GlastonburyFestival for their support of Bear Hunting,” had over 14,000 likes at the time this article was written. The explanation given by the manager of the page is simple, “Metallica’s lead singer James Hetfield is a big game hunter and promoter. This is incompatible with Glastonbury Festival ideals and brings its good name into disrepute.”

Some of the scandal has also leaked on Twitter where fans are eager to express their support for the rock band, but they also condemn the action of its frontman who endorses big game hunting.
